For at to the lowest degree a week now, whenever somebody has tried to send me a picture via text message, I have been unable to view the picture. Instead, in that location's download button where the picture should be, and when I click information technology, I get the error message in this thread's title.

I've had more than than ane person try to ship me a picture show, merely to make sure the problem is with my phone. Very weird. Are in that location any settings I should fiddle with before calling T-Mobile?

Oh, I should mention my SGS2 is fairly new, and came from the factory with ICS already installed.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Hello PacificaBren :ciao:

I practise very little texting and then I can't offer much help. The only thing I can suggest is to try Handcent SMS and run across if that helps whatever.

I remember I know what may be the problem!!!! I have had this problem when a motion picture was sent to me from the pesky iphone. I am unable to view the picture but there is a download button and guess what when I printing it zilch happens.

Go ahead and practice the following examination - if you have a family member effectually you lot or friend that has a phone other than the apple fruit production snap a pic and ship it to your self as an MMS (that should be the fashion people are sending it) except the iphone has some weird stuff information technology does with pics and the mms function really does non work.

After y'all receive the text in that location should exist a thumbnail of the picture in the messaging app window (that is assuming you are using the default app). Click on the thumbnail and meet if you tin can open the full motion-picture show. They are pretty depression quality and you should see the pic but also exist able to count the pixels on it.

Hope this helps - I know mms works because me and a buddy of mine that got a windows phone exchange memes all the fourth dimension. :)

I phoned T-Mobile tech back up and they got my problem sorted out. I'm now reporting back for the benefit of everyone in the future who may happen to Google "Currently unable to download. Please effort once again subsequently" and wind up looking at this thread.

From the home screen, click on card/settings/more/mobile networks, then click on "Access Point Names." In one case you're on the Access Point Names screen, hit your menu push button and choose "Reset to default."

Then become a friend to send yous an mms bulletin with a motion-picture show in it to test whether the problem is fixed. That's what stock-still it for me, anyway.

Where is the "menu" button? Is it that thing that looks like 2 pieces of paper underneath a box? When I push the two pieces of newspaper nether a box button, it does accept a "settings" option but when I push it, there's zilch like "access point names" or "mobile networks".
  11. 4WDGreg

How do you make sure "data enabled" and "data roaming" are checked?

    Yep, that'southward the menu button.

When you press it, you should see a stack that looks like this:

    Settings
    Wireless and network
    Wi-Fi
    Bluetooth
    Information usage
    More than...

Y'all have to click on "More..." to be able to continue. From that side by side screen, click on "mobile networks," and you should see the settings you lot're looking for.

My problem was having mobile data off because I use wifi. I estimate you can't download attachments over wifi.

    Thank you for the solution!

For those people like me who had to unlock their phone, (you can unlock your phone for free with a google search) the APN disappears every time you do a factory reset. You volition have to re-type the APN. Some people demand to alter their APN settings if they have been throttled, whatever that means.
I have AT & T service and bought a T mobile phone, and then.

This is where you lot go to get the APN settings to blazon in.

Sorry for reopening an former thread... I tired to reset APNs only I just had one in the list and the reset button was grayed out. I poked effectually a scrap more and discovered that my mobile network was set to global instead of LTE/CDMA. I set that, and turned on my mobille network and all the mms w/ a non-working download push reloaded correctly. I got the letters instead of a download button. I have a Note3 on Verizon. I was on my abode wifi network and however did not get mms. I' non certain if switching to LTE or turning on my mobile data fixed the trouble. I'd think no matter what, if I'thousand on wifi, i should go mms. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks and so much for taking the fourth dimension to come back and post this solution. Worked similar a charm. Awesome that you lot got a tech who was knowledgeable.

If you exercise this you could get charged roaming charges when out of the coverage surface area. Especially important if y'all travel internationally. It has nothing to practice with the solution to the error.

I know this thread is old, but I felt obligated to provide my solution for my situation. My father-in-law bought a LG G2 Mini dual sim that but uses 3G. We updated and installed all apps needed for his task also. Long story short, the attachments from the text service (MMS) couldn't downloaded any pictures.

    What I did:

I went ahead and added a new APN into the wireless settings, such every bit what tjgriffin posted. I found and used these settings: (REMEMBER): Different settings apply if you're using LTE phone vs a 3G telephone.

    Name: T-MOBILE
APN: epc.tmobile.com but you information technology's an LTE Device, use: fast.tmobile.com instead
    Proxy: <Exit in Bare>
    Port: <Get out in Blank>
    Username: <Leave in Blank>
    Password: <Leave in Bare>
    Server: <Leave in Blank>
    MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Get out in Blank>
    MMS port: <Leave in Bare>
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 260
    Authentication type: <Leave in Blank>
    APN type: default,supl,mms
APN Protocol: Get out information technology to the Default one

VOILA! It worked! Attachments went through and nosotros were able to download the pictures! Hope this helps others. Thanks!

My telephone was doing the same, so I went to the messaging app I'thou currently using "Go SMS pro" and went to settings, then click on general, when there yous should see MMS click on MMS Behavior if information technology says "Legacy" y'all click information technology then go back to your bulletin with the file that needs to be downloaded and tap it. After that your picture or whatever should come through with no trouble.

How practise you brand sure that it's LTE?
  21. livy111

Everyone stop changing settings please. Just reset your networks to default settings.
Settings > Connections > More than Connection Settings > Reset Network Connections.

Warning: you volition lose all of your Saved WIFI admission points and passwords.
